I had my car in for its 30,000 mile service at Mill Lane Engineering, Basingstoke yesterday morning - Charles informs me that the car always goes quicker after a service because your wallett is so much lighter!! he smiled after relieving me of £400+!! yes, very good!! 
Anyway, I had the use of an Impreza Wagon, new shape, for the morning - only did 45 miles in it, but I was seriously impressed - does the turbo drive the same?? it was VERY civilised indeed. Its still an ugly duckling, ok, you are NOT looking at the car when you are driving it - BUT EVERYONE ELSE IS!! and they are laughing their socks off. It looks like a frog who has just been surprised by George Micheal in the Local toilets!!
HOWEVER, it appeared as if the petrol consumption was as terrible as it is on the Turbo!! I put 8 litres in to cover the 45 miles!! and I am not too sure that the needle went back to exactly the same point as on pick up! so? lets assume 23mpg?? that is REALLY bad from a non-turbo isnt it??????
It was a nice drive though, when they get the looks sorted out and lose those stupid amber 'Kids Bike' reflectors on the wings I may, just may, have a little look see!

I was severely impressed by the WRX STI 7 when I drove it (not the UK version
) If i had the money I would be prepared to forgive its looks and buy one

No of course it didnt!! the 'Girlie' Sti in the showroom did though!! re-instated my opinion about them ( George Micheal and Elton John would like them ) - if you get my drift!!
