Default Hi i'm a newbie

I am Gary i am thinking of buying a Subaru,How many options are there
My heads in bits just trying to figure out which one to go for.I have been
looking on P.Heads and have been looking on here.I have up to 15K for the
right car, firstly i need to know what the right car is.Iv'e spoke to a guy on
here who's dad is selling the UK300.I like something different from the norm. Can't make my mind up if i want to spend a lot of money the way the market is at the moment all sports marks are struggling to sell and i don't want to lose a boat load of money in a short time.

I have seen 2 WRX on PH's for around 7K with only 20 odd k on the clock.
i think thats good value but are these the entry level model. No offence to anyone who has one as they look more or less the same as all the other models to me.Again no offence to anyone. Please can someone point me in the right diretion,or know of a top car possibly for sale.

I am 50 so no issues with insurance qoutes. The car could be a weekend toy or a daily drive.

Thanks for any information and i hope to be around for a long time.

take your time there are plenty out there.Dont buy till you are 100% happy with the car.Standard wrx is fine but i guarantee you will want more power, then the modding bug will kick in.Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum. As above if you have 15k to spend That will get you a nice example. I would look for a hawkeye Sti that has a full service history and that isn't too modified. You can get these for around 10k-15k. Try and find a limited edition like a spec c or even rarer an ra-r

Lichfield models are also sought after. Just take your time and make sure it is what they seller is saying it is as alot of wrx's are made to look like Sti's.

Cheers for all the replies.
Wheres the best place to look for these cars,on here??
or piston heads. This is whats confusing to me STi, STi hatch,Hawkeye STi,Spec C
and the models
go on .

Are the standard WRX worth looking at as i have eyed a couple, how much would it cost
to get one around the 280bhp as there are some low milage ones cheap. Also what your
thoughts on the UK300 up for sale, the year 2000 model and could that be
tuned to around 280bhp.You can PM me with your comments if you wish.

It's like youv'e said,i want to make sure iv'e looked at all the options
before parting with my hard earned.Nice site by the way.

Thanks for all the replies.

Hi mate. It's good advice to take your time buying, do not rush in because you can get burned.
I am a mature owner & have recently purchased a WRX 05 equipped with PPP probably running about 250 - 260bhp & very happy with performance.
Before I made my purchase I made a long checklist of questions before making enquiries & this forum was extremely helpful in compiling the checklist.
Also if you are not patient then you will be tempted to compromise & may end with some tad regrets at a later date.
Also I got someone I trust to view & advise on the the car (private sale) prior to purchase
Good luck & happy hunting
