roll cage ?
hiya i was just wondering if i could make my own roll cage?
i am a painter ( powdercoating)
and the buisness also makes anythink metal etc... then sends it to me to paint. i asked them if they would make me a roll cage and then ill powdercoat it for my subaru.. there fine with it just said draw up your design and mesurements... and its going to cost me basically nothing.
but wondered what design to go for as im keeping the rear seats in for now and the roll cage is mainly for show i wanted to design a 2 piece roll cage/bolt in. keep the front in and if i need to take rear seats out and then just attach the rear cage on ect...
if i make my own roll cage is that copyright ????
also if anyone knows or has a 3door subaru classic shell ect pm me cheers

Hey Dean,
I know it is possible as I have a friend who fabricated his own shell. However I suspect (just a hunch) the measurements for 4 and for 2 door, are different, so be careful there! Someone else might be able to clarify this….
Cheers
Rob

If I were you i'd make sure it was fully compliant with the MSA regs or it will hurt your resale value and could be dangerous in the event of a shunt.

I personally wouldn't want anything like that in my car that hasn't been fully designed/modelled/stress analysed etc. etc.
Big chunks of bar and plates etc. in an accident could be a potential death trap if you don't have it right.
