Hi Ellie

That works out about 20mpg which in normal town driving i would expect, but if you were doing motorway miles i would expect 25 and above depending on what speed you were doing
i get about 20-25 normal driving but i did a round trip of over 100 miles last week nearly all motorway and got 33

Nick.

thanks Nick.

from my other thread i think it needs a new lambda sensor which may be the reason for it being heavy on fuel.

I get 80-100 mile on £30 too. You don't get alot of fuel now days for £30 at £1.40 per litre!!

£80 has got me 250 mile on a full tank doing all town driving. 20mpg that.

Subarus eh ?? maybe the less well off us can afford to buy them but its becomming obvious only the rich that can afford to drive them !!

would have loved to have kept mine but after owning my first one for less than six months now have had to say enough is enough, as town driving is what makes up 99.9% off the familys car trips am finding myself spending £40 a week on petrol just on using the car for use outwith commuting .

yes could say that I should have known that before buying the car but in all honesty did not realise just how much petrol you could use in a week pottering about your daily life !! I was getting to the stage I was driving slower than my old car just to try save petrol, paying high insurance and road tax for a car that I loved owning but realisticly could not comfortably afford to run on petrol .

sad but having been a member off s/net for a long time now I have to say the amount off posts that are appearing regards the amount off fuel folk are having to spend out on to drive there car are getting more and more. I can only see the subaru scene get worse and worse and many others like myself admitt defeat due to petrol costs alone !!

sad as it is as we all know petrol prices will never come down , so give it another few years and I personally feel for a lot the scooby will turn into a weekend only fun car that very few will want due to increasing insurance / roadtax costs for what will be a second car .
