Cool New Memeber - MY06 WRX

Evenin folks,

My name is Dean and just bought my 2nd impreza. Probably gonna be a regular visitor on here. Had a modded 2004 WRX a couple of years back but some t**t decided to get pissed and smash his car car into mine as it was parked outside my house!
In the meantime I had a 2003 civic Type R and nearly borked at the sight of it after a few months, just wasnt the same, tacky horrible thing. Hence my 2nd subaru.

Its a MY06 Black WRX....Whoever was previous owners had good taste as they've done a real good job with the car, got rid of the higher spoiler and changed the rear spoiler and had it lowered and alloys painted black, looks smart IMHO, my personal opinion is that impreza's arnt the best looking cars but GENUINELY like the look of this one.

Was wondering if anyone might know of this particular car and possibly know any of its history.... It's reg is NK06UWX

I was told by the garage that the only performance mod was the custom made exhaust but there was a rolling road printout showing 258BHP , which to me seems a bit high for just a cat back exhaust. Thinkin its possible its had a remap as Scoobyparts have their stage 1 WRX remap @ 255BHP.
Anyone know if and how I can find wether the ECU has a ECUTEK licence??

Glad to be back in a scooby, can deffinatley tell the difference between the 2.0 and 2.5 engines, the turbo lag is just about eliminated and enjoying the bags of torque down the bottom end of the rev range, makes every day driving much less of an effort!!

hi dean welcome to scoobynet

to find out if your car has a ECUTEK remap you would need to get in touch with a ECUTEK mapper who can check it for u.

Welcome mate!

The 06 WRX (Hawkeye) 2.5L engine produces good power. They are supposed to be 220 as standard, but mine with only a rear box fitted and everything else standard (no remap) ran 253bhp on a rolling road! Result!

Got over 330 now though. Much better!

welcome bud,
as above i have an 07wrx and with a ninja back box only i had 251 on a rolling road,
with a remap on the existing turbo u can expect around 280-290 bhp and 330-350lb/ft

im now running 355bhp 396lb/ft
