Default is it worth it??

my car still isnt that good on fuel thinking of getting rid of the exhaust and going back to standard as well as removing the induction kit...back to orig air filter
due to the mods what would you say the differance would be on mpg??

and is it worth it?

No because depending on your exhaust you would need a remap. If it hasn't had one then you should look at that.

You might want to look at getting a remap. Speak to one of the many mappers on here and ask them what they think and how much better you want your car to be with the mpg. They should then be able to advise you on what mods to do beofre the remap so that you get the most out of it.

A remap depends a lot on what model year it is. Classics seem to run fine on decat exhausts and air filter mods where as new age models get the CEL on sometimes. I've had 3 classic Imprezas with standard to decat exhausts and never noticed a difference in mpg.

I'd go and have it checked by a Subaru specialist and see of there is an underlying issue.

I don't think it'll make much difference to be honest. Even sports are sh!te on fuel.

I find my newage wrx varies on mpg quite a lot depending on the type of journey.
My drive to work is all country roads and a bit stop and start, so im always lucky to get 250 miles to a tank.

But then recently I went to view a car in Great Yarmouth and I was really worried about taking the scoob because of the petrol cost!!
Surprisingly I got to Yarmouth and back to Northampton with quarter of a tank left!

Bearing in mind it was a clear journey there and back!

No Impreza is good on fuel no matter which model or variant you drive.
Also worth thinking about is just because your low level light comes on does not mean its empty, I recently found this out when getting it ready for a meth map.

Best thing to do is brim your tank and zero your speedo, drive around for a bit and then brim your tank again. Make a note of how much fuel it takes and how many miles you had covered. The MPG can than be worked out.

Personally, if your seeing 25mpg I'd be happy, if this is not acceptable then maybe your not ready for Impreza ownership.
Come borrow my car, I'm happy if I see 15mpg, Lol.

I removed the centre cat and fitted a mongoose b/box along fitting with a Pipercross ind it on my MY99. It improved the fuel economy slightly 2-3mpg better

I get between 18-22mpg max. Never had anymore and doubt i could tbh.

They are what they are, mpg isn't a strong point when owning an impreza Wrx/sti

I thought we'd established that with a Sport you should get 35mpg, 0-60 in under 8s, be able to keep up with, or beat, a WRX in all but the most demanding conditions and have a line of cute little blondes beating a path to your driver's door
