I don't know about tiny, I think they are only a few inches shorter, and a little bit wider than a Scoob, they just look a lot smaller.
Almost bought one before the Impreza, but after looking at them it appeared to be a little difficult to get a decent one, and the brakes need to be upgraded to cope with the std power. I think the service intervals are something like every 4,500 miles as well which put me off. As JGM said upgrading the power is very easy, unforunately as soon as the power is upped the reliablility seems to drop off rather dramatically.

the GTiR is a really cheap car to bring in from Japan... friend has paid £4000 for one which he imported himself... the same year is going for around £9000.... and the mods are easily done to increase the BHP..
I think they are 220bhp standard... rather heavy car though, they are heavier than a Scooby by about 35kg.... yet a tiny little car...

I've had one chase me up the A21 - and I didn't lose him in my P1 till I went round the roundabout just before the M25 junction without slowing down...
They are deceptively quick....

Yes - the usual method for loosing a car that is keeping up with you on the straights is (I find) as above, find some bendy bits and watch them fall behind...
