Default sc 450 package

Hi guys, just been browsing this package and was wondering what your opinions are and experiences are of those who have gone this route.
I know it,s expensive especially when the gearbox and clutch are added but as a drive in drive out package, well that,s why i,m asking??http://scoobyclinic.com/services_per...ning_sc450.htm

Do it, if you have the cash that is. I did it to my P1 and its ace. I had the 6 speed conversion and it pulls through the gears like a right bitch! Mines been running a bit down on power until i get the 3bar map sensor fitted but its going in to get this sorted over xmas.

The best aspect about the 2.5 and sc46billet is the amount of power it delivers from such a low rpm.

You wont need the gearbox as you have it already, a built engine done right is not cheap, plus all the supporting mods, clutch, injectors etc its not a cheap thing to do. in theory your car being a newage sti can be run at this power level on standard internals, it may not be advised as a forged build is always best and can run higher power and boost but plenty of people are running mid 400's if not more on standard uk internals with no issues at all.

set of injectors, clutch, fuel pump, decat / sports cat to name a few plus a remap possible simtec if you wanted add something like a sc46 will see you near that power but it wont be cheap unless you are willing to hold out for used parts and do the work yourself,

i would drop the guys at the clinc an email or call to ask them the best route, depending on your location i would also speak to david at API, or the guys at engine tuner as these all have a great reputation on here, also drop bob rawle or simon (jgm) a pm to ask them about the mapping side of things and what to put on the shopping list,

do your homework first and i am sure you will find something that suits your needs

It's a good package that will deliver the results promised reliably and SC are a quality outfit!!

You might also want to speak to David at APi and see what he can do for you. He built my 470/480 SC46 based conversion.

Assuming it's a fairly bog standard STi, the price will be approaching 5 figures for a proper job; do not be misled into thinking that that kind of power can be had cheaply and reliably! If you want power, reliability and a drive in/drive out solution, it costs. Simple as!

You might also want to think about the brakes and suspension.

I have AP 6 pots on mine - the daddies, but 2k+ and BC coilovers....at least they didn't cost the earth lol!
