antilag and launch control
hi i am currently planning to get my v4 wrx sti
ecu upgraded around feb next year with a simtek ecu.
now i have read a littlte bit about it and it says i can get antilag
and launch control.
not to sound like a total goon here
but what are they and how do they work.
i have a little bit of a idea on the launch control but i would like
to understand it better.
thank you

i have launch fitted and basicly with left and right foot all the way down the car holds at a preset revs mine is 5500rpm the purpose of this is so once clutch is released it keeps revs high and hits boost quicker

launch control makes it easy to pull off the line, put it in 1st put your foot to the floor and it will bounce off 5grand untill you drop the clutch, antilag basicaly keeps everything going when your changing gear

the exhaust was making these little backfire noises when idling and with low revs is that normal

yes, it works by holding the revs at a set rpm 4,500 on mine , it then keeps burning fuel in the headers to keep the turbo spooling, hence the pops ,bangs and flames ect, this will then throw you straight into boost and the back of somones car if your not carfull, lol

i was reading online that when you get the simtek ecu it eliminates the need for a
maf.
is that true?
its just for when i get it done i can take the maf off and put in a custom chrome pipe
with the induction kit on the end
