IS PSP the best photo editor for a novice?
After getting into photography a bit this year, I am now tempted to invest in some software to really make some decent pictures.
Saw Corel Paint Shop Pro X4 for £60 in PC World today, is that a decent package for a beginner or are there others I should consider?

Downloaded both of them but I am a bit overwhelmed by so many options and buttons! Are there any guides online for some simple tasks I can try on both. So far, all I have done is create a black and white photo and changed the object to colour, which seemed very similar on both.

I used to use Phaintshop prov when it was version 4 or soemthing like that and free, it's started looking more and more like photoshop so the layout is all much of a muchness... Photoshop is my prefered told though it has to be said and if you want to try a free version photoshop CS6 is available on a 1 year trial so give that a go to get your teeth in to it, learn and then buy it if you really like it
There is also a CS5.1 White Rabbit pre release portable version that has all the functionality and no install
