Unhappy

Thankyou for reading this thread.
I'm posting on here my problem to hopefully prevent anyone else getting mega ripped off.
As alot of you already know i fit alot of car security products for you scoobynet members, And as i have been very busy i have been contracting some of my work out to other companys. Well one company in question is VIN also known as AID. I first heard about a problem when philip clare had a Clifford concept 600 fitted, I past his details on to VIN, After the fit philip contacted me asking what i knew about AID which i replied "nothing why" VIN had asked philip to write a cheque out to AID when his alarm was fitted. So i called VIN and he told me that he just owed them money. How ever i have been speaking to a few people ie: steve goode to name but one, I found out that VIN is also AID. I have stopped using him straight away but he has aready cost me £12000 yes £12000 thats with stock he has of mine and accounts he's ran up in my name. I'm trying very hard to sort these out and keep my head above water Which i am determined to do i have had alot of support from GT alarms and non from TOAD surprise surprise. So what i'm trying to do is warn you against using VIN and for you to pass it onto any of your friends who may use him.
Sorry for this long thread but i just felt like i needed to tell you all, And i'm VERY sorry to thoughs who have had alarms fitted by VIN all be it only 1 or 2 from scoobynet I feel exstreamly guilty for putting you intouch with him. I can assure anyone who uses my company that it will only be EVS trained fitters who carry out any work in future. Once again thankyou for all your support and custom in the past few months.

They say it's a civil matter and theres nothing they can do. Only if a customer say's that he told them he was an authorised installer could they do anything. Then he could get arrested for fraud

Deal All,

Have a look at what a great job AID/VIN did on Steve Goode's Impreza. Where are trading standards when you need them?.

These ar$eholes are still advertising in Autocar etc. Perhaps a letter to the editor will get a response.

Craig,

Very sorry to hear of this mate.

If there is anything I can do to help you or anything we can do as a group let me know and I'll try and organise something.

Is there anyone you want us to e-mail or write to if you think it will help?

Lee

You entrust your car to these people and that's how they repay you!

Don't Autoexpress help people in these kinds of situation. Or is it only actions against car manufacturers.
BBC Watchdog could be interested. Try them too.

Hope things work out Craig, for both of us.

I'm glad i managed to highlight the problem with VIN to craig before anyone more Scoobynet members got caught out.

Only trouble is, i'm left with a car alarm i have no faith in (for the time being), thankfully i have a tracker that was installed prior to VIN's visit.

Best wishes Craig, i know it wont happen again.

Phil.

Thumbs up

Craig

Sorry to hear about your loss. That's a lot of money!

I've tried Watchdog, What Car! and the Sun newspaper. None of them seem interested at all. (The Sun have just responded to me and said that unless it has something unusual like an armadillo under the bonnet, a dodgy alarm story is a local newspaper tale at best - *****!)

If I have to pay out of my own pocket to have another alarm put in my car, I'll give you a call. Maybe it will help you get over your loss. I guess I was lucky that mine is only £3,000 and a lingering smell. (Anyone got any ideas how to get rid of the smell of smoke?)

I've spoken to the Sales Manager at Clifford and he seems to be reasonable guy I've forwarded his reply to Phil who may get some help from them. I am posting the letters from Clifford on my website, you may want to read the letters and then look at the ones from Toad and make your own decisions about the companies.

VIN/AID What are their telephone Numbers.
If loads of false bookings where made......................
Bombard them with Faxes and E-mails.
Nothing to do at work???
Phone them up and waste their time!!!!
Find out the name of their Local paper is and bombard them.

This could be fun!!
