hi all.. im new to the jap world, not long sold my astra coupe turbo which id done pretty much everything that i could, to squeeze the most bhp out of it being fwd so it was time to sell her
on the next toy i thought id follow my bruv (savage bulldogs) and get my self a classic scooby which im loving to drive on the twisty bit
shes got a miss fire when pushed hard but still made 290bhp on the rolling road yesterday... ive been told it should be my coil packs, so im off to take a look at them now whilest im putting in my new set of NGK 7 laser platinums to see if that helps..
just the norm 2pot calipers with grooved discs.. i was told that the v1sti dont come with 4pots.. they work pretty good but if shes gose over the 300 mark,
i think ill have to upgrade them
replace all 4 if they are decaying the others will be on the way they don't have to looked shaged to not work either
thanks for the advice mate.. ive changed the plugs and gapped them at 0.61. it already had ngk heat 6 in there and all the coil packs looked brand new.. when i looked at all of the old plugs together a noticed that the front left one was abit blacker then the rest..
correct me if im wrong but that tells me that its running rich on that cyclinder,
i checked all the old plug gaps and they all was 0.71 like the new ones when they came out the box, apart from the black one that was 0.81...
dose anyone no if that gap difference be enough to cause me to blow out that sparks on that plug when i give it the beans
It seems to run better for now but i guess only time will tell..
Very nice mate hope you enjoy her and dont forget to do the engine lottery have a look at your engine block for hash markings some early scoobs have a closed deck block there stronger than normal if you want to add extra power obviously you wud have to change internals for silly power lol
