Default Opinions on this car

Right, ive been searching hard for an STi, and found this, low miles and from a dealer with a bit of warranty (not that itd mean much but hey).
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...ge/2?logcode=p
What are peoples opinions? I can see that the IC isnt standard jap speed upgrade maybe?)and it has a BOV and exhaust. the exhaust im not arsed about, but want the BOV gone.
If i could get this at the righ price, is it worth a punt?
Also, what about this one? very low miles for its age

Help appreciated!
Ben

The intercooler from the blue one(1st Pic) is a standard newage WRX one??? NOT an Sti one as it should be,

2nd one ain`t bad, You can get them cheaper at the mo but trying to get a genuine low milage one that has been looked after is getting harder these days, So in all reasonable, But i`d give the blue one a miss personally

Take your time mate and be prepared to travel for a decent one, low miles on the second one and I am a big fan of the black STi's despite owning a blue one. Agree with Gaz, alarms ringing at why the intercooler isn't standard STi.

as above why would you put a smaller wrx intercooler on an sti?
i have no idea about engine mapping etc but would the smaller intercooler cause restriction problems?

Yeah... Even with a re map surely without the larger STi intercooler its not going to run at its full potential?

Intake temps would be higher with a less efficiant intercooler = Hotter engine = Not good IMO

Possibly wouldn`t make a massive difference but who knows what else has been changed that you can`t see.

yeah the blue one is off my list tbh. ive used piston heads and the trader for months.
However the black one looks like a suitable car.
