Default best way to store a scooby?

just after some advice on storing my scooby, had to take it off the road due to lack of funds.

it will be kept on my drive, i am thinking decent car cover and start it up a couple of times a week, run up to temp and move it up and down my drive a few times, is this the way to go or does anyone have any better advice?

its probably going to be sat for a good 18 months.

cheers

neill.

That's what i did when mine was garaged for the winter, left it running until the fans came on.

Try and move it about so that the car isn't always standing on the same part of the tyre and pump them upto about 40psi to protect the sidewalls.

Make sure the car cover is breathable though else it will get damp under it, I store my cossie over the winter for six months but it is in dehumidified garage but I just disconnect the battery blow up the tyres and leave it, then in spring I drain the oil put in fresh remove the plugs and disconnect injectors, turn over in short bursts till oil light out then connect everything up and run it till fans cut in then off again, I then use it as normal over the summer, I have done this since 1992 with no I'll effects but don't leave the handbrake on and if outside maybe uncover it weekly check all is ok and maybe running it up to temp maybe a good idea, but I think outside most issues after long standing will be brake related and maybe clutch sticking on the splines as I am lucky having no moisture to deal with

Up on axle stands? Then you save the tyres and don't need to worry about having the hand brake on...

Forgot to ask...does it have a stainless exhaust on it? If not when you run it you'll get condensation build up in the exhaust and over time it'll rust...

Minor issue, but the same goes for the fuel filler pipe. I think mine has rusted from the inside out due to the amount of time its sat in the garage over the last 8 years. Ideally, fuel tank should be brimmed.

axle stands is a good idea least you wont have to worry bout scumbags trying to nick it. car cover is ok but if its outside and windy sometimes the corners of the paint will wear thin or even maybe wear through, even with an xpensive car cover !!!

cheers mickyboy
