Default 225/40/18 Tyres Required

Guys,

I need to think about changing my tyres soon, currently I have 225/40/ZR/18 Pirelli Zero tyres on car which I would say have been on car from new out the factory.

What would be a good hard wearing tyre as use car everyday for work going along motorway and would I need to change all four at same time?

What sort on price is a guide for my size tyre?

Thanks H x

T1-R's are excellent tyres and saw over 25k on my Classic but i fear they may wear much quicker on a new age. You may also do well finding T1-R's as the euro prats have banned v groove tyres from what i'm told. I have the T1R replacements (Proxie 4) on the Wife's VRS and they don't feel anywhere near as good as the 1-R's. I cannot yet comment on their longeity however.

It will fit but ideally you want 225/40/18 In my opinion the Vredstein are awful tyres, The toyo t1r again in my opinion won't last you very long due to the compound being very Soft,

Im in the same boat and looking at the conti sport 3 at £114 a tyre

Eh?

I know its all down to personal choice at the end fo the day, but I'd really say that these are one of the best tyres I've run.
They were on an 05STI.
They were Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta, but I would guess that the OP simply made a mistake with their description.

I've got 7.5 x 18's wheels on me spec d with 235/40/18's on them. I'm gonna change to 225's though when the time comes. The tyres on at the mo are kumho's & I was horrified to find that they were budget tyres, but, although I don't drive the car like I've stolen it, I certainly don't drive like miss daisy & yet I've never had the car out of shape yet?
In saying that though, when the time comes I'm gonna be putting falken 452's on the motor.

I'm currently on a set of Falken 452's 225/40/18's and can't fault them and I do like to add some tyre noise to the scooby soundtrack while enjoying the twisties on my private test road. They seem to let go in a progressive way when on the edge which I personally prefer over having tyres that dig in to the last and then let go in a big way One of my mates tried the 235's and found tram-lining became annoyingly noticeable I.E the tyres had their own agenda for following features in the road surface.

Well how is it that when I asked what people recommended a few months ago, around 70% of people recommended / raved about them??? Since fitting mine I`ve noticed a big improvement in grip. As for saying friends have used them and didn`t rate them, were they on newage scoobys or other marques, because the same tyre won`t perform the same on different cars?
