its probably worth about £1000, if its a clean shell, no damage, and rust free.

Yeah it's all in good condition I was really suprised when I saw it today. What do I need to look for to see if it is an actual STI. Any plates stamped on the body etc?

Imo £1000 is way over priced. You can pick up a clean typeR shell for that sort of money. I would say £600 max, depending what you sell with it.

Under the bonnet there will be a silver ID plate take a picture of that and get it on here, and we can tell you hopefully exactly what you've got.
As for the price, I'd say around £600 is more realistic also, seen them on ebay at that price anyway.

Surely if the real owner is happy with you selling it then he will give you the V5?
To be honest, if he is just letting you have the car to pay for paint work you have done i would be seriously suspicious. Before you do anything i would make sure its not stolen.

That's the problem we currently have. I havnt HPI checked it yet. But he doesn't want us to sell it. But it's been in our possession for over a year now! And he keeps coming up with excuses for not paying. We had contacted all the legal people and now the car is legally ours. It's a toughy. All because this guy didn't wanna come up with £300. Tbh I reckon he just wanted free storage for it.

Apply for the V5 once you have that it's going to be easier to sell

Apparently you can't register a car with no engine and the guy will not give us the V5.

The property is not "lost" and someone has legal title over the item so you can't actually sell it. You cannot sell something you do not "own".
Is it a landline number you have for the guy ??
