thanks lads

i have a quick question!!
are all wrx and sti's from 96 onwards the same power as in same engine and its just the uk thats less powerful? i just cant seem to find much info only that the power was increased in both from 96, but i know the sti has the red inlet and the wrx doesnt so im asuming there are differences in the 2 engines? its just that im thinking of looking at a 99 wrx but if the wrx is less power then ill just stick to looking at the sti's....

The sti's are generally all limited to 276bhp but many came out of the factory quite different.

Non of the WRX have the same power as the STi's. I'd expect them to be the same at 240.

ah well thats settled then man, sti it will have to be

i always thought that but i was looking at wiki and it was sayin that from 96 onwards all the jap scoobys had the same power

is there any other differences in any of the 97 up sti models?

also are there any main things to look out for when going to buy one? any common faults or anything?

1993 WRX - 240PS
1994 WRX - 240PS / 1994 STI - 250PS
1995 WRX - 260PS / 1995 STI - 275PS
1996 WRX - 260PS / 1996 STI - 275PS
1997 WRX - 280PS / 1997 STI - 280PS (max allowed to state by law)
1998/99/00 were all stated at 280PS. Many believe the actual number was higher but Jap law stated that all cars must be a max of 280PS (276bhp).
