New to Scooby but Old to everything else!
Hi Guys n Gals.....Been a bit of a petrolhead for over 25 years now and being a bit of a part-Time trader (an honest one ) I have had many Nice and performance orientated road cars over the years....I will admit to being a long term M3 Owner and have just recently swapped a lovely E46 M3 coupe for an Impreza P1......
...Well, ...Bleedin' 'ell..........having avoided The Impreza's for many years (due to my perceived views of the 'type' of some of the people that own/drive them !!!.......sorry!)
...I have been blown away by how this motor performs and the tenacity of its neutral handling is an absolute joy
I'm Hooked..
...joined the P1 WOC as well as my local Midland Scobbies site , been to a few meets and chucked £several hundred quid at the P1.....all this within the past 3 weeks of ownership !
It's been a long time since a car made me feel this way!

I got my first chance yesterday to drive my WRX how it should be driven.. we've just had a weekend in the Peak disctrict and found an amazing road near where we stayed in Bakewell... The car was superb.. Loved accelerating out of corners and felt really planted.. All good.. also managed to get 320 miles out of a full tank.. Probably the last time that'll happen but it made my decision to buy one that bit better!!

I dont give a toss about MPG in the P1....I have a 2.0Ltr HDi Citroen Berlingo as a Daily Driver (to and from work) vehicle !
I get 50 mpg out of that and i can then just about justify the sub 20 mpg i get from the big boys toy on my drive !

But it's the nearest thing to a Go Kart with road tax that i have ever driven and it brings a slightly larger grin to my face that the M3 has done in the past...
..read into that what you will but they 'aint nowt wrong with being happy happy happy behind the wheel of your jalopy .

Welcome to the fold mate,I also don't even think about MPG in my scoob as its the driving experience it gives that makes the car what it is.
Also like you i have a mile muncher [focus c-max 1.6 derv] that will deliver what can only be described as amazing fuel consumption in comparison to the scoob so what the hell

I have had performance orientated Cars On & off for the past 27 yrs and i have always purchased these cars with my eyes wide open to their probable high maintenance and general running costs !
I do understand that the cost of a gallon of fuel is now at a very prohibitive cost and well understand what it is doing to the values of high performance cars !
Nevertheless, I feel the end is in sight for cars akin to the Impreza (and specials like the P1 even more so!).....Look at what Mitsubishi are seriously thinking of doing to the Lancer Evo' !!!
I am going to enjoy my Impreza as long as i can afford to !!!.....
...and will hopefully live long enough to tell my Grand-Kids how wonderful the Old cars were
