Default 1/4 mile / 0-60ft / Top speed / Track times

Having ran in the grudgement Sunday, I realsied that I have still a fair way to go before Im happy with the way the car behalfs as it should. Im aware that I have a lot to do to it to make it handle better, but as I dont seem to have a 'Goal' as such, what is a reasonable time for 1/4miles and 0-60ft for a MY02 STI full fat with around 380bhp atm due to a few issues.

I ran a 13.01 @ 103mph with a Slipping clutch, and a 0-60ft @ 1.8 which I didnt think was bad considering I was down on power due to a failing NPS, and a very warm TMIC .

I have searched on here for some insight to no avail lol

You're not too far off the ball with that Rob.
I ran a 12.8 at the Pod with a 1.62 sec 60ft, again in a full fat road car. That's with a 5.5k launch as well
You will find that changing to 5th in a UK car is a bit like taking your foot off the gas as the ratio is too tall for drag racing, more like a cruising gear, and really knocks the steam out of the last 150 feet of the run.

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 380
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1550
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 249.10
0 - 60 (Secs) : 4.21
0 - 100 (Secs) : 10.49
60 - 100 (Secs) : 6.29
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 12.83
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 110.56
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 12.43
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 114.17

you should be able to manage those figures when you get your issues sorted

^^ I always find that 1/4 mile calculator a little on the optimistic side.

Id say a high 12 should be the target.

I usually get around 12.6-12.8 with 360hp , but thats in a spec c .
My best is 12.47 but think this may have been a fluke.

You can do a lot better IMO! 12.2 in a VF35 powered STi with around 365bhp (Rollered at 363 and 373bhp in two different places - so somewhere in the middle will do!
I have a fan under my intercooler to suck air through to keep it cool when stood still. And use the waterspray! Ran around the 1.7 60ft times.

Could definitely go faster, I ran a good few 12.3s @ 111mph also, and my final run I missed 3rd and still ran a 12.3 so I reckon I could get a 12.1 or 12.0 out of it?!

All very interesting thanks guys.

I should add that im running a standard fit GT30 with Hayward and scott headers (slight blowing up pipe gasket too). Dyno'd at 356bhp but it was slipping on the rollers plus the NPS was failing thus knocking off the power, so I guessed at 380bhp.

The clutch will be the next mod if im to continue with this car, along with a FMIC, although I do like that the idea of the fan on the TMIC Scoobydoo

Eggy I have a vid of your car up against your mates evo on Sunday, I'll up load it and post on here

dazdavies, im always impressed with your home build, and very nice times there indeed

The only trouble I have at the moment, is the car is likely to stay as a full fat car until I can afford to get an oil burner aswell to be the daily commuter.

If I can get the clutch sorted for the next Grudgement along with the other little niggles then I will push it harder with a splash of Meth, The intention is to get it into the 12's, but I also want to get the car to go round corners, which is where I "havent" spent any money at the moment bar coilovers.

sorry to add a negative note but if the stewards found you useing the waterspray they'd give you a warning and stop you running if you continued to use it. Thats what happened to me.

Ok here is my second only drag that ran the times stated at the beginining, as you can see the clutch takes the burden on my launch.... not good. I thinks about three minutes into the video.

Also here is Eggy's Bug Vs the FQ, again its about half way into the clip.

Enjoy

It's all about I/C spray running through the I/c, over the bell housing and dripping on the start line.
Marshalls either see it as a leak or safety hazard and you get a red card.
HTH.
