Hi all, having previously owned a blobeye I am looking to get back into an Impreza wrx or sti but unsure of the road tax on them these days. I.E, don't want a £440 bill every year. Is there a cut off date for this? I don't mind the fuel prices too much as it will not be used evey day. What year or model should I be able to get for up to £6K and what type of mileage would it have on the clock. I have read through the for sale sections and it seems to be a bloody lottery.....lol

I think its actually increased to £460!! My 2006 STI that I have just sold was in the high tax band. Probably a reason why I sold the car! Totally grudged paying it. Lucky if my car did 5000 miles per year.

Mine is an march 05 wrx and the tax was £245, dont quote me but i think 05 is changeover for the tax bands?

thanks for the replies handy link too. it does look like anything registered after the 23 march 2006 goes to £460 I think. Stu, what mileage has the WR1 done? Cheers.

Well as they say don't buy the first you see but I have, a 2005 wrx ppp with 31k on the clock and full Subaru history. Forgot how quick these were.....lol should be picking it up this w/end.
