Service intervals on old bugs changed ?
#1
Rang the dealer to book a 21500 and they said all new shape are 10k now. Only problem is the last one was at 15k so that would make it 15k between services if I left it, so told him to change the oil and filter. Have not seen any other posts on this so are all the dealers doing it?.

My dealer (suprise suprise), knew nothing about the new service interval when i called last week.
After investigation, he reckoned only MY02 models were affected and my intervals were still 7500.
If the interal had indeed changed for registered cars, surely Subaru would have made an announcement?
With a service due (isn't it always), it'd be nice to know the score.

Strange how offical Subaru dealers have different ideas. My dealer (Simpsons in Swindon) told me they had changed, I was just going to carry on with the 7.5K intervals. Apparently the 10K interval does cover all MY01+ cars.

Blue, there was an offical announcement from subaru some months ago which should have been sent to all dealers informing them that all MY01+ (as Seamus mentioned) have had their service intervals changed to 10k/12 months, thought I had the thread in my favourites but sadly not.
If your not sure give IM a call to confirm. Seems that distribution of info within the network is not upto much, hence the issues with incorrect oil's being used.
