Default boost fluctuation

Hi all, right my car has been fine after being mapped but yesterday I fitted a new clutch, I now have a big boost fluctuation. The boost is all over the place, up and down more so in 4th gear, if I let my foot off in forth then put it back down u can feel boost for a split second then the car cuts all boost ( not fuel cut ) then gradually gains boost and then fluctuationagain. Now I dont understand how fitting a clutch could be related to the problem, so I checked all boost pipes to make sure nothing has been knocked or come off, but all is fine... help please.......

get a gauge for a start.
how do you know its boost?? if you have no gauge
could be a misfire (coilpacks)
is it a violent jerk, or a smoother loss of power.

I don't like gauges, I no its boost as I've felt it before and owned 20+ turbo cars, and being a mechanic kinda helps. I've checked everything so now I'm baffled.

It's a wave of power, up and down and the occasional total loss of boost for a second or so.

had boost problems similar to this, turned out to be failing coil pack. was fine if i feathered in the power but occurred when opening throttle full quickly? similar??

who mapped the car may be worth getting them to have a look

Smooth wave except in forth when I reply the throttle I've got no boost for a second then suddenly boom full boost, not a smooth gain.

clutch slipping when mapped (not enough to notice) now you have full load duty to high with a decent clutch... or clutch is slipping now?

You could of got it there Simon... the clutch is better than ever now. I did only feel it slip once so I replaced it, but as you say it may of been slipping for a while but not noticeable hhhhmmmm now that would make more sense to me.

it is very difficult sometimes when you get to the limits of the clutch, sometimes they let go and it is an obvious rev to redline etc and sometimes they just slip a tiny bit..

sounds like it was slipping when mapped and needs an adjustment.
