Hi there depend which turbo you have,if you have older model of VF which are very fragile. If you have TD04-TD05 or any from newer model of VF you will OK run DV delete/dvless...

Mate, I replaced Baileys on standard OEM one. What a DIFFERENCE !!! I'll never put any aftermarket DVs again. Car is running more smooth and MPG is much better too !

The flutter noise is due to not having any dump valve. On lifting off the throttle the incoming air flow hits the closed throttle and bounces back towards the turbo. The fluttering noise is the air going the wrong way through the turbo causing the compressor blades to stall.

So assuming you're turbo is up to it all you need is a blanking plate to cover the hole after the dump valve is removed (assuming its the type fixed to the intercooler, if not the just a plug for the hose.).

depends what air filter you have. on my legacy with standard airbox+panel filter you can hear nothing from inside the car, and maybe a slite low pitched rush from outside. With a cone filter you can hear it a lot more, or still standard but with a leak from intercooler hose it sounds like a dump valve...

BETTER mpg?
How is that supposed to work?

DV delete is all well and good until it does irreperable damge to the trubo, and with it, possibly, the engine.

Up to you, of course, it's your car.

There are always those who say, "go for it!", or, "Hey, I've been doing that for N years and mine's been great!", but THEY won't be helping with any repair bills

What are the dump valve which are good for the Subaru? Are they the ones that recuirculate? Does anyone know which will work but not be detrimental to the engine or turbo?

Thanks.

Any recirc valve, like the OE one fitted by Subaru.

Unless you are running huge power, or the OE valve is faulty, (unlikely), use that one.

If you are using a panel filter, it's fairly quiet, but once you start tuning and move to a cone filter it's quite loud.

DO be careful, thouigh, cone filters are NOT good for Scoobs except under certain conditions, so take advice first

The recirc ones, which one do you recommend. Noob question but what is a OE valve? If this the one that came with it originally?

Thanks

You wouldn't as its recirc type mate which is dumping the air back into the turbo inlet not the atmosphere which is the type you hear.

You can still hear re-circ type valves depending upon the nature of the intake.

The re-circ on my Skyline is pretty loud with a POD filter.

You will only hear it with a cone/mushroom etc type filter, with standard airbox it is hardly heard at all unless your running some serious boost or have a very quiet exhaust lol!.
