My pal is paralised from the waste down. Never stopped him having fast cars, he recently sold his E46 M3 (smg box with steering wheel accelerator and hand controlled brake) and now has a new 335D Msport with similar hand controls.
Plus, he gets all the vat off when buying a brand new car. Saves a bloody fortune.

My dad is disabled, suffered with polio as a kid been on cruches since he was 3. Never bothered him though, and he'll always win at arm wrestling
When I learnt to drive he drove manuals with full handcontrols, additional lever by the gear stick for the footbrake, 2 levers under the steering wheel for the clutch and throttle, was quite interesting to drive, a couple of hairy moments turning right across a busy B road, putting my foot on the brake and my knee caught the throttle instead!! plus occasionally going to change from 4th to 3rd and catching the brake instead !!

like the first time we all started driving, using pedals and hands to drive was something that we had to become acustom to, to some degree at least.
for someone who has no choice but to use hand controls, i would imagine they get used to it in the same manner.

I know someone who is paralysed from the waist down who owns a very very fast P1 with the hand controls
The problem is, now, it`s been fitted with a paddle clutch so it`s much more difficult to use the hand controls......sooooo now he`s got a ummmmm, long estate type Subaru (I forgot what they`re called
)
*Ahhh, a Legum, that`s it*

Im lucky enough to not to need any driving aids as i am still mobile.Ive got damage to the discs in my lower back from moto x riding i was told as long as i manage it ok leave it alone as surgery would be too risky and could leave me in a wheel chair.So its good to see some of the aids to help you drive.

Not disabled my self, nor a subaru owner either for that matter.
But I have saw quite a few adapted subarus for sale around this area (north east).
There was a STI with rally graphics for sale not long ago which had hand controls.
