Had a bump in my 2001 bugeye gx wagon on Friday front wing bent, front headlight smashed, top bar on front near headlight bent and bumper cracked fog light smashed.

What's most likely to happen repair or write off if write off what worth approx 102,00 miles on clock last service was in November

I'll try and post pic to show damage

I sold a lovely 51 plate GX wagon late last year. It had done 70K, full history and was in nice condition. It also had a set of WRX wheels on.
I got £1700 for that to give you an idea.

write off im afraid. option could be to buy it back and get it repaired

Hi matey,you can fit wider wings from saloon(i have fitted),buy second hand bumper etc.
If you want keep it,i would suggest repair it and keep it

Thanks guys. Problem is I was gong to sell it and buy a classic turbo or golf turbo. I don't really have time to buy back and repair I start my new job middle of month so no holidays yet

i think you'll get a payout and that will be that, but don;t expect it anytime soon, most claims take a couple of months

Well car is getting picked up in morning and dropping me a hire car so hopefully get sorted soon. My mate crashed his car 3 weeks ago and got paid out last week so never know. 1st time I've had to claim so all new to this

repair it. (1 days work @ a weekend) cat B writeoff means they give you the list price value of the car. my 94 saloon was £1200 acording to them, so lets say you get £1500 for it minus the scrap value of the car (£50) and they let you keep the car.

so you gotta get a 2nd hand wing, headlight n bumper. aint gonna cost all of that £1450 you just got, and you then have a car that you can sell for what you was going to sell it for originaly and youve made more than you would have if you hadnt had the accident !
