You'd make a lot more in parts, my old V6 cavalier was the same - worth £750 tops as a car, £3k in parts

I'm trying to convince my wife that mine is so worthless that I may as well keep it when I buy the RS4 (as a toy), she's not convinced

does it look standard or does it have chave parts and stickers on it.

if it has chav parts and stickers not many dealers will touch it, hence the low offers.

I've noticed something tonight (others might have too).

I'm looking at getting a new car and can't decide what, so I started to get a few quotes on various cars. Only via a comparison site for a rough Idea but I can get insured on a Focus RS, E90 M3 and a £54k Ferrari 360 cheaper than a £15k Hatchback STI Just to add I'm not looking at Ferrari's but I just thought I'd try to see if it too would be cheaper.

So I wonder if people are getting daft insurance quotes

I can get insurance through a mainstream company on a £30k, 57 plate RS4 convertible for a £100 a year less than I pay through a specialist on my my £8k valued bug WRX. That's a 20% saving for me.

wrx's are hard to sell as you have cheaper alternatives which offer the same performance and cheaper running cost's hence you buying a 197 clio.

Yea
BUT

I find it hard to pay for the insurance/tax/fuel/servicing etc

But
There's nothing better than turning up for work with a smile on your face because the drive to work was so pleasing

That's the agreed value for insurance purposes not the market value, and TBH it just hasn't been revisited for a couple of years - but to rebuild with all the mods it's probably not far off

theres a reason why scooby insurance is so high.......
they are cheap to buy and too many racers then smash em up. the statistics will be through the roof, hence the prices.

Was the Spec D maybe a bit overpriced? What was the price, year and mileage of the Spec D?
