Default Making a mistake?

Just put a small deposit down on a standard 04 WRX, done 112k miles.

Not 100% sure I've done the right thing as I've not seen the service history although, it's supposed to be full and comprehensive. It'll also come with a 6 months parts and labour warranty.

The body was pretty good and it seemed to drive spot on. I can't help thinking that I'll soon get used to it and get bored and start yearning for more power. Not sure if I should just walk away form the deposit and buy an Sti instead

Thumbs up

first of all you really need to see the full service history with that mileage so you know cam belts changed, oils changed engine oils etc changed have you ever had an impreza before.... coz there is a huge difference between the wrx and the sti.. if you buy it you probably will always be asking yourself what if i had waited and tried a sti.......is there no way you can reclaim your deposit and walk away to rethink your strategy...if you are thinking like this now and you havent got the car yet you will probably always have a doubt in your mind good luck keep us posted with your next move...

The price is £5k. I've left £250 deposit.
Last one I had was a classic shape but I know from the Cossy days that I'll no doubt get bored with 225bhp. It's very much like an SL spec with leather, climate, moonroof, heated seats.
Going up in a price isn't a problem as I'd prefer to do it once and buy one right. It drove good for the miles it has done but I know when I go to sell it, it'll slow the selling process down. If the history isn't full and comprehensive, I'll be walking away.

Oh and it's had a new clutch fitted but it still juddered a bit on pull away....

If in doubt, don't.

These cars look ok initially:

I don't feel a £5000 budget will get you an STi, but certainly a very nice WRX. You need to see full service history before buying any car, and also a HPI certificate.

It's always good to waken up your own opinion at times, so thanks for your opinions

I've got the money to get an Sti but it will have to be a blob or hawk and preferably blue. I've seen loads of black ones about but wouldn't be able to live with that colour. I guess I'm just been tight and trying not to pay all the money for something I do want

Thats too much money for the year and the fact that it's done all those miles. There are better examples, particularly as no one wants these anymore because running costs are frightenly increasing day by day!!!

If you are already having doubts then deep down you know its not the car for you.

If you can afford a bit more money then go for the one you really want. Its a buyers market, hold on until you see the one you really want. You'll be glad you did!
