i have just purchased a new pink box clutch for my wrx

I've got a lightened RCMS alloy jobby in my bugeye.......revs quicker when stationary in neutral and I used to stall it a lot when I first had it fitted.

Not sure it made that much difference when on the road apart from using the gears to slow down was less effective LOL

All IMHO

A few years ago, I bought a used bugeye wrx that came with RA gearset and a Excedy hyper single clutch kit that comes with a lightened flywheel. The lightened flywheel made the revs rise and fall a fair bit quicker. Feels great when on boost.

Now here comes the not quite so desirable part. Even though the RA gear set was closer than the regular wrx ratios. It was quite impossible to accelerate at carpark pace in 2nd, there was just not enough momentum (or whatever that was causing) to pull the car cleanly.

So, i'd say do it if you this is a track day car or you are willing to sacrifice low end driveability. Else, keep it like that.

i purchased the pink box exedy "anti judder" clutch but i was not willing to risk it.ive always found if you try and do things on the cheap you end up paying it in the end.do the job once and have it right!

ive just had the whole kit from lateral fitted inc the 6kg lightweight flywheel and car feels nice with no difference in drivability, the car still feels oe but with a decent slightly lower biting point on the clutch.no regrets here at all.

That's strange. Well, it could be that the Excedy kit has a too light flywheel. Good for you mate.

Regardless of whether you've bought an 'Anti-Judder' kit you really need to either skim or replace the flywheel, unless you are very lucky. That said I'd rather spend a bit more replacing the flywheel, or skimming it when the clutch is being done first time, rather than 2nd time............
