REMAP 2000 JDM Bug WRX
I have all the mods required to take my car to around 340 bhp, I'm just after prices and people's general advice as I also did jump on another guys thread, but I thought I would start my own.
In my area which is Preston I have a number of places quite local to me, I hear good things about Andrew C, there is also TEG motorsport (http://www.tegsport.co.uk/) I have been told Steve is very good. There is also Cotcomp (http://www.cotcomp.com), but a friend of mine had a bad map there so any advice on here welcome and finally the speed factory (http://www.thespeedfactory.co.uk/), this seems to be a new place but they have all the rolling road set up and thats. I know there are guys that travel but i would also like to know the costs, I do not want a new ecu I just want the factory one mapping. Also another question can I have any other things mapped into the standard ECU or is it a case of just one map? Thanks Kev

It depends how much your willing to spend mate and what you want from your ecu and remap. You can go for a open source map on the oem ecu and is very good value for money due to no licience being needed. Or you can go for a ecutek which is more expensive but offers more support and backup should anything go wrong. And finally there's simtek which offers a much better map and also allows anti lag and launch control plus loads of other features but costs top dollar. you need to be more specific with your requirements.
Just to add try not to just go for someone local when you can get a much better mapping just by traveling and spending a little bit more on fuel

Andrew Carr all day and he is on your door step, i believe TEG and COTCOMP have a good rep as well but never heard of the speedfactory.

Right if I go for the open source map? what can I get? yeah I hear rave reviews about andrew carr and he lives in preston which is a good thing. Yeah i dont mind travelling but theres not much point when I have theses places which are local to me and are decent. I dont want to pay like 1000s, what ideally would i be looking at 500?

The mods to your car are really bread and butter for any reasonable mapper. Andrew Carr (local), Racedynamix and Jolly Green Monster (travelling) would all give the result you require.
Racedynamix would be cheaper because it's open source but for what you need your OEM ECU will hardly be breaking sweat so no need for a replacement ECU LOL.
