F!?kin Couriers!!
Just had a phone call from one of my colleagues to say that my Prodrive spoiler has turned up and have popped into work quite excited and ready to fit it.
Upon opening it it would appear that the courier or handling office have not paid much attention to the fragile signs all over it and i have found a massive crack through it to a point where the side piece that points downwards is pretty close to coming off
Gutted!!

Have you seen the toolkit the drivers are issued with? In it is a door bell ringer, it allows them to park the van out of sight, ring your bell and drive off before your backside leaves the warmth of your armchair in anticipation of your delivery.
Oh the joys of watching the back of a courier van speeding off down your road after a 'failed delivery attempt'

It was parcel force! The link to it was on here via ebay. Uk 300 prodrive spoiler. I emailed the guy b4 it was sent to say if it cost more than the advertised £20 postage to fully insure it I would cover that. He's messaged me on ebay to say it was insured for £50
I'm sure this is gonna b a nightmare, see what happens. It's my Bday on Thursday and it was a present from the mrs.

Don't start getting funny about this on here there's no need.
As per my ebay message if you can please send me some pictures to prove what damage they caused I can then make a complaint, then if you return the spoiler to me I will refund you what you paid and i will get it fixed.
This is more of a problem to me than it is to you as I am going to be £250 out of pocket and am left with a broken spoiler.
I don't know what your supposed to do with couriers, it was well packed and marked fragile, handle with care and please keep flat.
You have my email so please can you send me some pictures of the damage.
Cheers

First off, you cant just assume it's the drivers fault as that parcel would have been handled by at least 3 different depots prior to it being loaded onto the van.
Secondly, most van drivers dont wants to leave a drop card and have to try and re-deliever the parcel the next day especially when come tomorrow he might have 40 more drops! They are suppose to try at least 2 neighbours first before posting a card.

All a sender can do is package the item as best as possible, but even then, **** happens unfortunately, and as you say, it can't always be blamed on the driver, these items are handled by various different people along the way. It is a shame some people don't GAF and no doubt things (marked fragile or not) get thrown about along the way.
It is very true, most drivers will want to get their parcels delivered, however, sometimes they are not allowed to leave items with neighbours unless stated (this may vary company to company), much the same as they can't always 'leave safe' unless stated on the delivery instructions. At this time of year when the load is alot higher, whilst the main aim of a driver is to get their drops off, there just isn't always enough hours in the day to try 2 neighbours everytime someone isn't in (even if they are allowed to try).
