Noob help please!
Hi all,
Looking to purchase my first Scooby. Its probably for all the wrong reasons too! I've currently got a remapped 172 Cup, but a newborn baby led to a need for 4 doors and a boot! It may be crazy, but I'm potentially opting for a scooby.
I've got this lined up: http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/2126460.htm. It may be known on here?
Can anyone offer me any advice as to what to look for? Does this model have isofix as standard? And what are the chances of a pushchair folding up into the boot?
Many thanks!!

loads of room for the pushchair mate and the kids in the back as i have 2 kids at 5 and 9 yrs old and no probs, i have similar wheels on my V5 and they are a pain to keep clean, mine are a gloss black finish and look amazing when they are clean so worth it! do you have a budget or just seen that one and not had a look about?

I've had a look about, and he wants to p/x with mine, so it saves a lot of time to be honest! I'll probably keep this for a year and no doubt get another Scooby, something bigger and better!
Random question, but would a pushchair fill the boot, or is there still room for the odd shopping in the boot too?

looks like a nice car mate, my last one was a bug but got a classic now, you would still have room left in the boot, its surprising how far forward the boot goes.
or get an estate, they are very family freindly.

Ive got a 56 Hawkeye (for sale on here but probably out of your budget). We have a Maxi Cosi Mura which splits into a separate chassis and seat and we get that in ok although we also have a Graco which wont fit as it wont clear the opening so best to check. With the Maxi Cosi it takes about half of the boot up so lots of space left. We went down to Kettering for a few days with the little one and took one of those cheapy Tesco pushchairs, luggage and still had some space left. Mine also has Isofix mountings on the rear parcel shelf. Enjoy!

Lovely car that Hawkeye! I have a MaxiCosi car seat and an isofix car seat base. If even my little cliosport has isofix bars on the base, i'm hoping a Scooby does!
Got a Quinny Buzz pushchair too, again, this fits in my clio boot if I remove the parcel shelf, so fingers crossed that fits too!

I know what you mean. I've put it on e-bay at £9500 to see what interest it gets otherwise it's staying until next spring. Just a word of warning, my Mrs has found the ride a bit hard with being pregnant again and doesn't really like driving it at the moment. Good luck finding a good one. I was like you needing something quick but with four doors and a big boot. Audi RS4 was out of my price range!

If she don't like it, she has her own car
Know what you mean about finding the right car. I've had a Cupra R, Scooby, Octavia vRS and even a Nissan Navara on my shortlist!

I can't see 'full service history' written in that ad? You need that as a priority!
Also any induction kit on a Newage is not a good idea, (unless you want unnecessary noise). You really need the standard set up with a high flow panel filter (easy to revert back to)
And of course you would need to thoroughly check for any accident repairs on this type of car plus a HPI check.

Spoken to him about that. He said service history is missing two stamps in book by previous owner. Had a full service on it 58K miles in August 2010 with receipt, and cambelt was done at 50K May 2009.
Cambelt was my main concern!

Get a wagon if youre unsure about the boot space, blob/bug eye models are in your price range at the mo, get one with the Morretti conversion and it helps the looks. I had the same issue coming from a 306 gti6 to an MG zs180 neither of which had enough boot space. The Scoob wagon however is plentyful and if youre worried about speed, i wouldnt, its not like youre going to be hooning it around with little'un in the car and on the occasions when youre on your own the book figures show a difference of .2 of a second and 1mph top end. At those figures the skill of the driver and the condition of the car are going to make far more difference than a bit more metal.
