I was looking at one of these before I decided on an STi and there's a lad on the RB5 owners club site that has one with less miles and wants close to 10k I think.
*Edit* Yep here you go;

good luck i say, hope he gets what he asks, cars are being devalued too much on here, and sometimes people think the more expensive the car the better!!!! He is definatly getting attention and advertisment by advertising it for over the odds!!! Fair play to him!!

It's probably one of the best around considering the mileage and standard spec and there are people out there that want the best available. He may get lucky and sell at that price.
It's like people selling a standard P1 for £12k. It happens.

mr hat I am seriously starting to think you have a screw loose!
You could have sold your car for £4000 but didn't as you wouldn't drop the £200, now you posting that you have the car for sale for £3995
Quote from you:
i want it gone, at the price i want for it, if i wanted 4 grand for it i would take 4 grand for it, however i want more than that for it.
Is it me.

There cant be many RB5's left standard with under 50k on the clock, but the seller will have no interest at that price, especially this time of year.
I paid 7k for #138 in March 2007 with 65k on the clock.

that type r is also sold. so somebody thought it was worth it.
i still say that over 8k for a rb5 is just obscene, i mean did he check the market before he listed it? i appreciate its immaculate, low mileage etc etc, but its still over 3 grand more than other nice rb5's up for sale. and it doesnt even have the ppp fitted.

You also need to realise that although I think your car is expensive in the current climate I'm sure its one of the best ones available at this time - I've considered £4k on an RB5 with nearly 100K then looking at yours I've questioned the logic - theres a Sonic Blue UK turbo for £4495 with 35K and I would consider offering £4K. On that basis you will just have to wait or like I said if your that desperate knock off a couple of hundred quid.
You've now started 3 threads relating to the sale of your car - When you were selling the STi V3 you posted several threads as to why that didn't sell immediately. These cars are specialist cars and selling them is truly a pain unless you undervalue the car.
However, similar to Mr Hats position, its even more of a niche car and will only be bought by the serious enthusiast. £11.5K will get you into a Hawkeye STI and buying that V6 should really only be for special days and wrapped in cotton wool.

Mr Hat, are you for real? I'd actually be embarrased to post up a link to an advert saying its overpriced, having gone on about how yours isn't selling, and then turning down a VERY good offer for it - I honestly think your on some sort of medication! Are you trawling the net for overpriced cars just so you can justify the price you've put on yours?
