I have a V3 STi so I can't remap the standard ecu for 97 ron fuel? Is that correct?

When they are converted the speed will read in mph thanks to some funky jiggery pokery, and as for fuel most on here run there cars on super unleaded (bp ultimate, v-power,tesco momentum 99) without any problems. If you try to run it on normal unleaded expect a big bill for a rebuild, hope my ramblings help you out a bit.

Got it in one. Use only what the car is mapped for, or put octane booster in to be safe.

My 05 Jdm Sti has the KMH on show .I ran it on optimax and octane booster to be on the safe side .Till i got time of work to get it remaped for uk fuel .I run mine on V-power all the time .Think there is somthing wired behind the dash to change speedo from KMH to MPH .There is a red cable coming from there and is joined to a wire coming from ecu .When select monitor is pluged in the ecu still reads the miles in KMH

yes there is a small eletronic box behind the cluster on mine that is soldered to the back of the clocks, Don't think the speed signal from the sensor is any different though. Only disadvantage with a jdm car is a lot of parts are different so presume would take a bit longer to get if you needed them,
