i seem to have a rather large puddle in the spare wheel well i think its coming from the holes for the spoiler or maybe the boot seal is leaking is this a common fault or just my leakey scoob (05 blobeye)

Common on Classics not sure about Newage though. Check the rear light seals and the seal on the spoiler

my classic leaked from the near side light cluster seal. i think a lot of scooby's have wet boots!

Does anyone actually use "search" any more

OK: there are a few places to check:
1. Rear light seals, top of, (most likely culprit),
2. Boot rubber seal damaged, unseated, or just not fitted right.
3. Spoiler holes, remove and reseal. Use Carafax grey non-setting.
4. Rear windscreen seal: mine went and it's not the only one I've read of. Check other stuff first.
5. There is a vent in the wheelarches that's supposed to spring shut. Sometimes it doesn't and allows spray IN.

Leaks can often be found by lying down in the boot and having someone spray the rear of the car with a hose or power washer, after first carefully drying around.

Common problem, one of the main problem areas is the boot seal.

Sealed mine last weekend and so far so good no more water in the boot.

If you do a search you will find lots of info. As recomended in previous threads I used a sealant made by a company called caraflex, removed boot seal cleaned and applied sealant to the metal flange, only do not apply too much (as I did) as it make a big mess.

Be sure to check the boot seal very carefully. I had a leak that appeared to defy the laws of physics - water was being drawn up and through the seal by capillary action.

It was the last thing I checked and you'd be amazed at the amount of water that came in. And new boot seals aren't cheap either.

sounds like they have more leaks than a culinder plenty to have alook at then,well thats saturday sorted then
