It look s better and more distinctive as a saloon, Subaru are mad and i am sure restricting sales as the hatch is not a patch and looks like any other run of the mill euro-box

Yes we are

I believe the first demo. cars will be in the dealers in the Autumn and orders can be placed now although you may have to wait awhile for delivery. The flow of cars from Japan is very slow nowadays .

We're looking to get the WRX [and alledgedly the STi] in late August over here [Adelaide].

Have first shout for a test drive in the STi....looking forward to that.

really - they're coming to the UK??? niiiice my my97 sti3 has been with us for nearly 12 years and needs a new home, so this is excellent news.

It baffles the hell outta me that they didn't give us the saloon from the start, they've been in the US (not in STi trim tho).

Red face maybe ...

Wowee ! It's a shame they are using exactly the same pistons as in the hatch.....

You would be mad to buy one - it'll have all the same issues as the hatch engine failure which is probably between 10 -20 % of all Sti's. And thats a lot...

Even the WRX doesn't look too bad with the wide arches.

Couldn't care less whether they bring it or not. The car is too heavy, too ugly (the front end is a complete dog's dinner) and too far behind the competition to be relevant.

This is great news. My missus has been refusing to update her 2002 bug-eye even after 80K miles and now there is a chance I can prise it out of her fingers by dangling a 2011 saloon in front of her (neither of us likes the hatch).

I may even get to keep the old one as a track car

The new 2011 Impreza with an all new f*cked up ECU (probably) and an extra 200kg of completely superfluous weight - all included in the price!

SUBARU - Because more steel is better(TM)

If I get the urge, I'll just buy the panels to make my blob look like the hawk...

So it took 2 years of massively reduced sales to make them realise no one wanted a hatchback that had lost its edge over the Gen II car... so they come up with this...

Have to ask... why didnt they just make it like that in the first place???? Hope the guy in charge back in the day of planning the hatchback has commited hari - kari
