Major brake fade
starting to have a really bad problem with this,
i have ebc groved discs and ebc red stuff pads.
if ive been giving it some beens, on the occation
it will just not stop, its like i have no brakes at all.
the pedal its self feels the same and hard.
if i have been traveling at a normal speed it will stop me dead.
or if im going really fast ( just once ) it will stop me dead.
the problem lies after continuous harsh excelleration and breaking
and the top speed does not have to be alot
any ideas to help stop this without having to change
my standard 4 pot fronts and 2 pot rear calipers?
all brakes are like new and have been worn in.
please excuse my spelling
any help would be great....

There be nowt wrong with the discs but the pads need to change. Would be fine on Yellowstuff pads or others listed above. I am currently running in the same setup (but using the latest Redstuff's) and hope not to have this problem. LOL.
The only thing with the Pagid's is they dont do rear's to match. Well they dont on the Pagid Blue's anyway.

How long have the brake pads been fitted as EBC recently changed their brake pad formulation. I took part in the trial and had EBC Bluestuff pads fitted to my car, these pads performed and outlasted PF and DS2500 pads (I always found the DS2500's a little wooden).
If you have the old type Redstuff pads then I'd recommend that you change to the new formulation Redstuff pads.

Just keep an eye out on the brake forum as i will be posting more on my experience of the new Redstuff's once they have covered some more miles and me finding time to go driving "properly" so i can get some heat in them.
I did get fade when i went through the bed in process BUT since then have not had chance to "test" them properly. I will not pass judgement until i have done.

As taken from Andys post on brake forum.
Quote "Redstuff fast street (not a race or trackday pad ) - code AF88/26 on box end (base code E 388) Street legal to R90 regulations"
This is the latest compound.

Are you using the current compound? Are you using the same compound on the rear?
If the above answers are both yes, you may need to move up a compound or two to highly rated Bluestuff pads.
People driving styles can be very different, for me a normal fast road pad has never cut it (although it does for most) and something that is usually designed for track temps works well for me on the road.
