WOULD YOU SWAP THIS FOR THAT???
Hi guys
i have been offered this:http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2081890.htm
as a direct swap for this:http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2094916.htm
Now i know the subaru has more power, better looks, better handling so why would i do this swap? and if cash is expected on top then how much???
OR should i just say no thanks

To me it depends?
Is that what that car is worth on say Autotrader?
Then what is tru value of your car?
If the above turns out to be right then I would say no way.
For example, my MY03 JDM is only worth probs £8k/£9k (according to Autotrader) and it has been totally reliable, so I am not selling for a good few years

No way would I consider swapping the scoob for a civic type r, For the money mate you would be hard pushed to find a car that will make you as happy as the scoob would. Done it so many times over the last 10 years and I always end up going back to a scooby.
If you want something that would make you smile everytime you drive it then id cosider going for a JDM twin scroll impreza or maybe a Evo 8 or along those lines!! You will regret selling that hawkeye in a month once its gone!!!

Civic owner has put up £2k, what do you think?

well seems to me you are unsure, so tbh i would just sell the car you have then buy something when you decide you know what it is you want! if u make a fast move on something you may regret it later on.

Surely if he's offering you his civic plus 2k then you'd be mad not to do the deal ? I mean if you put the civic back up straight away for £9250 then you'd have £11250 in your bank to spend on a better Impreza.
Its a no-brainer

Don't do it !!!!
I just sold my civic type r 07 "57" it was **** and bought a sti05
the reasons I hated it
the ride was to hard (and not great handling)
the brakes were poor (took it back to Honda a few times) and still poor
The handbrake was useless had to leave it in gear on any sort of hill(Honda said must leave it in gear when parked on hill )
I had trouble pulling away (wheel spun all the time) no lsd (i went from 4 wheel drive to civic and now back to 4 wheel drive)
mpg was only bit better when driven slowly mpg when pushed 16-18 mpg
not as quick in the real world as I was lead to believe plus did not suit my driving style as it had to be thrashed hard to make it power difficult to explode out of corners and round abouts(on private property of course)
to sum up do NOT do it

Could do with going on Honda forums for info, me thinks this forum would be a bit bias
