Hit and run W4NKER!
hello all.
come out of work just now and theres a f$£king massive dent in my drivers side rear bumper. actually pushed it inside out! they mustve hit it at about 20mph.
sad thing is its someone who works there and the CCTV is no joy. looks like im stuffed.
anyway, what i want to know is has anyone got a rear bumper for an 06 hawkeye WRX (or sti if they also fit) and preferrably in obsidian black?
if anyone knows of one or has one it would be a great help.
or does someone know where i can get a new one cheap and what price im looking at?
im gonna pop down the crash repairer i know to see if he can pop it out, but i doubt it. its about the size of two footballs and dented all the way in to the metal behind.

That's shocking! As someone else hopefully you might be able to spot anyone who's got some damage as well, or are there any paint spots on your bumper that might identify the colour of the other car?

You'll be only looking at £150 max for a body shop to do it

got 2 suspects in car park today. security checkin out the cameras from yesterday..and will call in the white car owners with a bluff that theyre on tape in hope they'll crack.
i did think a van but then the depth of it wouldve meant it wouldve taken the light out too. theres an old white escort out there with some fresh marks on... some fnckers gonna pay!!
STI bumpers have that little wheel arch lip dont they?
gotta wait til monday now till i can get a guesstimate.
where i work is FULL of migrant workers with no tax insurance or even licences some of them. they wipe out cars all the time... i deliberately park miles away double bay too.

if its popped out, wont that kind of defined line that runs along the middle be lost? wading through the breakers at the mo, but no joy. would rather a replace, had a plastic weld and remold before but got a feeling they'll see it as more cost than to just replace.

still not found who did it. CCTV werent angled right. *******s.
its all africans/eastern europeans with no tax or insurance that use that car park too :-( hoping if i find out who's done it i'll get them to pay up cash, then grass them up to plod.
wiley mate, i looked on ebay couldnt see a newage one? has to be WRX one as the STI has a lip on the arch. not sure if an older year would fit i think the bugs and blobs are a bit different from pics ive been looking at

Yeah, the blobeyes have a cutout for the rear lights! You could get the STi one and get the arch extensions too, they're £90 each from a stealer and come colour coded

Werent even interested after someone scraped my mum motor on a roundabout in beckton...they kept going, I got out and chased on foot, a police car came out of nowhere skidding up like i'd been 'captured' and had a go at ME for the chase?!? gave them the other cars reg and they just kept sayin- tell you're insurance not us. Low and behold- car wasnt insured and registered to a fake address.

i find that having the area sensor on quite a wide distance stops the door dents pretty well. Makes people realise a car is there as they open their door...problem is they should be looking anyway. Ive seen mums bounce their massive toureg doors off the side of cars parked a decent distance away. at lakeside saw a terrible terrible driver take some m3's mirror off and do the wing before peeing off. I left a note myself of the persons reg i witnessed do it. Earned 50quid good samaritan wage beer out of that :-)

I didnt realise the arch extensions were stick-on i thought it was the metal parts shape. How will that work though where it meets up with the black plastic part that comes about 8 inches up the arch at the bottom of the door? is the rear of the sti a straight swap on in terms of fittings?
Also isnt the spacing wider on sti's? With that lip on my wheels might look a bit sunk in.
Good excuse to do it though, always preferred that arch.
