which white?
my silver my99 classic is going into the bodyshop next weekend to be painted. orginally i was going to have it done ford frozen white as found on new rs etc.
after reading about it though it seems that when applied, it appears to be quite translucent and often requires quite a few base coats to get a good finish so i have binned this idea off and now need to find a replacement. my alternative is ibis white as found on new range of audis. i really want as bright white as possible. any more ideas or suggestions?

Frozen white isnt bad for covering tbh, 3 to 4 coats is plenty, never had a problem with it being see threw, its same as any other colour if you dont put enough on then youll have the same problems

oh yeah i know its all in the prep etc. if i was using a back street garage at back street prices i wouldnt mind but its going to be costing around 2 grand and thats with me stripping it. i just want a white that has depth to it so when its been cleaned and polished etc it still looks fresh

BMW ALpine white, found on the new M3 "alpine" limited edition. Beautiful white, so crisp and clean.

Tricky......
I really do like white cars (I had a white Ford Escort reg MYN 975L, check out the reg year ) and last year I thought about changing the Scooby and looked at swapping my bug for a hawkeye, Scirocco, Audi, Megane Renaultsport, RS Focus etc. ........ and the whitest white seemed to be the Audi and the Renault !
The Renault had a huge slab of gloss black at the front which seemed to make the white look even more white, and the Audi cost made my nose bleed !!
For whiteness I'd go for the Audi and then the Megane.........
As for changing the car....... Rob84 (post 13) is sticking a 2.5 into the Bugeye

Are you going for a flat White or a Pearl/Metallic?
More years ago than I care to remember now I used to have a Renault 5 GT Turbo in Pearl White and it was stunning in the sunshine.
