Talking Help me fix my car donation

Very cheeky this, but wondering if people would like to start such a thing. As related to this thread i started earlier.

https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ng-scoobs.html

would be massive help for people who have unexpected engine failure etc and a massive helping hand.

Peoples Scepticism is nothing to do with being "tightwads" By donating a few quid to some deserving individual with a genuine case, you set a precident that some 19 year old with his '93 WRX with 140k on the clock and 2 litres of oil in the sump will try to take advantage of!
The answers simple - PUT MONEY ASIDE, YOURSELF
If I had put £5 a week aside, starting when I bought my STi in '03, I would have around £1900 available for emergencies
Please don't tell me you can't afford a few quid a week for your
"broken Subaru" fund

surely this is one of those wind up threads ????????

if not then well i'm lost for words.

not only is the general section the "new for sale section" for those who are too tight to pay a membership it is now come to threads like this as well.

my advice would be if you cannot afford to run/repair it why on earth do you have it ??

sell up get yourself a small 1.0l car, save up some money and try again once you can afford it properly. you cannot run a subaru on a shoe string budget with no rainy day funds behind you.

if you do by some miracle find people willing to part with their cash and give it to you to repair your car what happens next time something goes wrong ??

not having a go or wishing to kick you when your down but you have to stop and think ! always another day later.

I tell you what, I'll give you a tenner. Purely because you had the front to ask for it. Why the **** not. You dont ask you dont get.

I see that you live in Merthyr. I live in Newport and I'm guessing you may well go along to the SWS monthly meets at the Toby on J30 M4.

Di you make it to the Elan Valley meet we had recently?

If you are at the next meet I'll give you a tenner. That way I can be certain that others can vouch for your cause. I believe you anyway but need to be certain.

We all need a little help now and again. There's nothing wrong in sticking your neck out and asking for it.

Oh yeah, I'm a bit broke, anyone fancy giving me some money for nothing?
OK, nice idea but totally unworkable and, as said, open to abuse.
How's about when you need new tyres, should we all chip in for that too?
