lol at nick
you know what i mean
as for the weight of my car, i was really impressed,
o it also doesnt have a spare tyre , so thats another 10kg
but all tools are there
i know the titanium cat back only weighs like 5kg so that must be where my biggest saving is.. the downpipe seems to weight the same as the standard catted pipe when i changed them..
either way im chuffed
as my mates jdm blobeye went on straight after and got 1570kg in same standard trim including spare tyre and his decatted nur spec exhaust..
we cant work out where he has the extra weight
both same breathing mods plus remap and his twinscroll is still quciker though lol, well by 1/2 car lengths lol

How much fuel did your mate have on board? 60 lts is about 45-50 kg. Does the DCCD add some weight to the JDM?
Finally, how accurate was the weighbridge? Callibration status? I'd expect weighbridges to be geared to measure 30 tonne road tankers rather than 1.5 tonne cars; if so, there could be significant errors in your weighings? Perhaps could have done a couple of weighings, the second with the order reversed for comparison.

he had half a tank
i had a quarter tank as we were heading to petty station and saw the recycling centre with a truck on weigh bridge and we just stopped off
they weigh trucks all day everyday so got to be pretty accurate.
his ic spray bottle was also full as i had just filled that up with water from the fridge at my house (its de-ionised thru the filter)
mine was filled up the week before so must have half a tank of water in the ic tank?

Theres a weighbridge in the yard where I work I use twice a night. It weighs in 20kg increments. I remember once a couple of years ago they had a firm come in to calibrate it. As for exactly how accurate it is I dont know.
If, however, it was a public weighbridge it would have to be pretty damn close. If I get pulled over in my HGV onto a weighbridge and its overweight or an axle is overloaded I could be prosecuted. I'm sure this means that they would have to be pretty much on the money to be admissable in court.

This is my 03 blobeye last year with me (~82kg) sitting in the car. I have cusco 6pt rollcage, removed spare tire, approx 1/2 tank of gas.
So the net weight of the car with the cage is around 1475kg

The 2005 Spec C had less paint undercoats than the Normal STI, it also had thinner carpets, and lighter glass..... and if you think these are urban myths read the info half way down page 1 of this PDF file taken from the press release by STI Japan......
