Default Looking to buy in scotland wrx sti

Hi guys , i am looking to buy a wrx sti , i have around £8000 to £10,000 to spend ,

What kind of spec an year should i be expecting an what things should i beware of.

This car wil be my daily driver an not just a toy, i currently own a 420 bhp supra which has never missed a beat, and also owned a 98 plate scooby wrx turbo import before but no experience of the newer ones. so i like the power but wanna go around corners now.

Always find the guys/gals on the forums to be a great help when buying a car and they can save you a lot of headache on a vehicle.

here s a rough idea what i have been lookin at so far

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1600268.htm

Any help or info very much appreciated and thanks in advance

brian

check out some of the cars in the for sale section and really you want a car with a forged engine in for that mony or get an 04 plate onwards as there engine are stronger and will take that sort of power as the older scoobys with that sort of power on standard internals might be on the way out but im sure there will be some more input on your thread dude from some of the more experened members on here

I'd say if you can look south........ I live up near Elgin and the prices up here were 3K+ higher than what i paid for mine in Newcastle. That extra money can be the insurance or a better spec car. Depends where in Scotland you are and how easy it is to get south. I even looked as far south as Yorkshire and couldn't believe the price difference!
Just a though...... Good luck on the search

Default am near linlithgow

will keep lookin up here as to lazy to travel more than 100mls to get.

don't eally have the time to travel down south to look at cars, either workin or partying.

But yeah the prices down south certainly seem to be less,
cheers mate

Try Autotrader. Stick in within 50 miles of post code NE64. That takes you from Berwick to south of Sunderland. It's an option.
Slightly easier for me as it's where i'm from and went to visit the family and get the new car!

Personally I'd be looking for a 2005 model.
You should be able to secure one for around the 10K mark - maybe a little bit more.
My old PPP'd car went for approx 10.5K with 63K on the clock.
