Question Fuel fault ? Help plz

Hi there, my scooby seems to have developed a fault, just wondering if you ppl in the know could shine any light on it ?

The problem is that after letting off the gas peddle and then reapplying power (not thrashing it, just 30mph traffic driving), there is a massive delay for it to start rewvving again, maybe up to 5 seconds or so, very intermittent fault, also while cruising at 30 just cuts out for a moment and starts back up.

To me i thought i was fuel related, after running it normal 95 RON for a few weeks, the fault seemed to appear, so i ran it on V_Power for a few weeks and the fault seemed to go away until i got caught short and had to use local petrol station useing 95 again, problem re-appeared, back to V_Power, problem still exists, so i changed the fuel filter (what came out of there was black and mirky), but problem still exists.

Please help.

PS. Had problem like this in a BMW which turned out to be the TDC sensor, is there any fancy button presses to help you diagnose sensor faults ?

Many thanks in advance.

Should use 99ron no matter what or carry octaine booster if you get caught short!

Sounds like I would perhaps change the fuel pump to a walbro 255

Get the pump checked before buying a new one ..... !!!

Have you passed some Injection Cleaner through it yet? Make sure your tank is showing low and pour a full bottle of Injector Cleaner into the tank (ignore what it says on the bottle) ..... run the car for a good few miles.

Fill up with V Power and report back.

not if it's a UK Turbo you don't. They were tuned to run on 95 RON.

We need model/type/mod's etc

Have you checked the filter bag on the actual pump? Easy job with the rear seats out on a saloon, even easier with a wagon.

Check the bottom of the fuel tank for crud when the pump is out.

Have you changed the spark plugs recently?
