Wide Body WRX
I'm ready to buy one if the price is sensible .... anyone know when it's coming to the UK?
USA are getting them (and the STi Sedan) in the summer ... will we be far behind?
What will happen to the slim bodied WRX and WRX-S prices? I can see them suffering the way the Bug Eye did after the facelift ...... no-one wanted a Bug Eye, (they wanted either a Classic or BlobEye). Even today the Bug Eye is recognised as the worst Impreza ever made (will the same affect the slim WRX's?)

I do like the wide bodied WRX but is it not a little too modern for an old codger? It might just be too radical for when you turn up at the afternoon tea dance, might give the old dears a turn...
And as for Bugeyes have a look at my S202, and I had you penned as the style guru of Scoobynet, guess I was wrong then.

Even if it was an STi it would in no way ever be driven as it was intended to be, he may as well buy a 2.0 RX.

I have met so many STi owners who have had enough of the filling jarring ride .... the novelty quickly wears off!!
The standard WRX is the one to live with ...... we all know that

Sorry is that a UK Turbo model as I think there are a long line of better classic models that yours - 22B, RB5, P1, STi RA, WRX RA, JDM STi, JDM WRX and Type R to name but a few , no disrepect to UK Turbo owners intended.
Everyone has there own taste and you do not like the Bugeye then that is your choice,
Personally I would rather my limited edition (242/400) car than a bog standard production car but that again is my personal choice and taste.
If it is of any interest to you have a read of the review below of the S202.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Pete. The current WRX looks lame, but the new version above is a lot better. I could be tempted.
I'm one of the few that prefers the old WRX over the STi as I want a quick car I can use every day without wanting to look too much like a frustrated rally driver.
There must be more like me as the WRX massively outsold the STi, although it may have been down to the price, admittedly.
I think £7k is a lot to pay for a car that is probably only 10% better, especially as I don't want gold wheels and a huge spoiler.

I've had both and it is not just gold wheels and a big spoiler ... its been engineered a little more than your repmobile!
As for Pete slagging bugs, you have gone down in my estimation... from a Teesside lad as well...
...Oh well I don't suppose your out to make friends!!
I've had a nice blob... the bug is just a little bit more niche...
...maybe a bit too special for your generic taste...

I think they will have a hit on thier hands if the WRX has the STi body without any of the rock hard suspension and breakneck jarring over every pebble .... most people are happy with a very fast everyday car - they don't need the STi 'enhancements'.
