Wide Body WRX
I'm ready to buy one if the price is sensible .... anyone know when it's coming to the UK?
USA are getting them (and the STi Sedan) in the summer ... will we be far behind? What will happen to the slim bodied WRX and WRX-S prices? I can see them suffering the way the Bug Eye did after the facelift ...... no-one wanted a Bug Eye, (they wanted either a Classic or BlobEye). Even today the Bug Eye is recognised as the worst Impreza ever made (will the same affect the slim WRX's?) |

That's nice, but what's wrong with bugs :hjtwofing :D
|
They're Bug Ugly ;)
|
I do like the wide bodied WRX but is it not a little too modern for an old codger? It might just be too radical for when you turn up at the afternoon tea dance, might give the old dears a turn...:lol1:
And as for Bugeyes have a look at my S202, and I had you penned as the style guru of Scoobynet, guess I was wrong then. :freak3: |
bug eyes worst Impreza ever made? No they're not, they far better cars than the classics. Looks are a subjective matter. Either you love it or you don't.

STi about £26,000
WRX about £19,000 That's £7,000 to spend on a TowBar and Electrics and some chrome trim :thumb: |

with the car looking quite imposing you'd want a bit more go :) |

The price difference is for a reason, the STi it has better equipment, engine, gearbox, suspension etc etc :)
Chrome trim? That's a bit chav isn't it? I have met so many STi owners who have had enough of the filling jarring ride .... the novelty quickly wears off!! The standard WRX is the one to live with ...... we all know that :D |

Personally I would rather my limited edition (242/400) car than a bog standard production car but that again is my personal choice and taste. ;) If it is of any interest to you have a read of the review below of the S202. http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evoc...u_impreza.html |

The wide body wrx should have been on sale from day 1 - looks are more aggressive, as it should do.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Pete. The current WRX looks lame, but the new version above is a lot better. I could be tempted.
I'm one of the few that prefers the old WRX over the STi as I want a quick car I can use every day without wanting to look too much like a frustrated rally driver. There must be more like me as the WRX massively outsold the STi, although it may have been down to the price, admittedly. I think £7k is a lot to pay for a car that is probably only 10% better, especially as I don't want gold wheels and a huge spoiler. |

I've had both and it is not just gold wheels and a big spoiler ... its been engineered a little more than your repmobile! ;) As for Pete slagging bugs, you have gone down in my estimation... from a Teesside lad as well... ...Oh well I don't suppose your out to make friends!! :) I've had a nice blob... the bug is just a little bit more niche... ...maybe a bit too special for your generic taste... :) |
I think they will have a hit on thier hands if the WRX has the STi body without any of the rock hard suspension and breakneck jarring over every pebble .... most people are happy with a very fast everyday car - they don't need the STi 'enhancements'.
