how to tell v4 sti heads
does anyone know a way to 100% identify version 4 sti heads and cams. so far ive gathered the following
sti heads should have under bucket shims and not shims on top in direct contact with the cam. Do any other years/models use under bucket shims i.e early v1/2 wrx/sti?
sti cams should be L4IN L4EX R4IN R4EX should there be any other marking to identify the difference between sti and wrx cams. i.e some have 2 lines running through the L4IN some have one in the middle of the L4IN and some have the line at the end.
all info is appreciated

sti cams have 2 lines, one in the middle and the first letter, uk have the line in the middle
and the wrx, the line is to the last letter.
the valves are also different to the others, there filled with some thing
i have a set here, what im putting on mine.
also, some wrx heads have under bucket shims.

id say not, the valves are different.
and from what i read. sti cams would brake the hydrolic lifters.
i did read also, the line in the middle, were on the older sti's.
but were as l2ex ect....
but the engine i took to bits, uk had the line in the middle, and wrx had the line around the last letter.
