Default Best launch technique

Being a new owner of a WRX 300 PPP I am a little nervous about ruining the car by launching it hard. I went out for a practice today and did a 4K launch, which was quick. Is this reasonable, or can the car take higher rpm? And is there any point?

Also, does the WRX PPP have the rev limiter beeping device that an STI has? Does anyone redline their WRX or does it make little difference if you change earlier?

Cheers,
Chris

launch like that at your own peril mate yes the car will take it but your putting a lot of stress and wear on the clutch. not sure about the beep on the WRX but I'm sure someone in the know will be along shortly to answer.
Regarding technique use as much rpm as you can and feed the clutch in to avoid wheel spin.

Question: Are you trying to win drag races here or just muck about on the road? The answer to this will, to a large extent, determine the answer to your own question. In any case, the person best placed to work out how to drive your car best is its owner, so if you really want to learn how to launch it best, try some different approaches and time them.

As has been said, launching like that puts a lot of load on the car so if you're not actually in a position to win a prize, the novelty will probably wear off sooner or later. Possibly around the time you start to find the clutch won't bite properly.

No.

There's no point toying with the limiter as, even on the PPP map, the boost tapers off rapidly above 5500rpm so you'll go faster changing up earlier and making the most of the midrange torque.

No beep, just a bang when the component in question has been stressed past its limit.
