Question

Where's the best place to buy an new import WRX in the UK? What should I look out for (Where it's from etc)? What should I expect to pay? Do they really have a 3 year Subaru warranty? If so why isn't everybody doing it? I want to buy a new one, stick some UK300 style lamps on it, 17 inch 10 spokers and white indicators. Is it best to buy these from Subaru or does anyone else do them cheaper? Oh and I need a Scoobysport backbox I reckon! Any advice would be just great.
Oh, and does anyone want to buy an Evo VI, 14,000 miles like brand new?
Change of priorities might just see me back in a Subaru!!

Bentleys in Sheffield do a good deal at £17995 all in. Only a 1 year warranty though I think from Subaru. You have to buy another 2 years. Delivery though is at July at the best.

Thanks for the help so far guys.
Couple more Q's.
Whats changed on the 02 model? When will it change again and what to? Is it true about Prodrive redesigning the front end for next year?

This is an old chestnut that I asked at the beginning of the year so here goes (and I have a MY02 now)

1. Aerial now built into rear screen
2. Illuminated ignition switch
3. Front badge "large star" merges into the top small star.
4. erm.....not much else

Yorkie

There are rumours about a MY03 facelift, but my dealer dismisses it even after I have taken delivery of new car. They probably will make some tweaks, but you cannot hold off buying one waiting for the "latest" its like computers, you will never have the most up to date version for long, so buy one now!

The problem is I can't wait 6 months, more like 2 months max. Is there a difference between import models from different European countries, such as warranty etc?

Hi Mega,

Got mine from Garage Knockaert in Ypres (near Zeebrugge, Belgium) 3 weeks ago. Cost £16,500 all in for a WRX 5 door in WR Blue, with Morettes. Could have done even better if I'd waited longer to buy my Euros. Delivery was 4 1/2 months, although I waited to register it as an 02.

If you're up for that, contact Alain Knockaert as follows:-

Tel : 0032-57-20.20.66
Fax : 0032-57-21.61.98
E-mail : knockaert.gar@pandora.be

From Holland and Belgium, the warranty is 3 years. The first year is transferred to Subaru UK, while the 2nd and 3rd are still administered by the country of origin.

Or try Showroom4cars.com (tel 0870 753 4444). They had some on short delivery recently - not sure if they have any more coming in though. Might be worth a shot.....

Well Lane Turbo Centre buy them in 10's from Holland. Some are sold before they arrive, but some make it through to the forecourt. Had a couple of delays getting mine (because of ferry problems aparently) but it was ordered and delivered in about 8 weeks (instead of 6). I could have had one off the forecourt if I'd liked the colour.

Their website www.well-lane.co.uk usually has details of what's parked outside for immediate delivery or there's an 0800 number to ask them what's coming in and when. £17,995.

Hope that helps

Ive been looking for a while and decided that http://www.litimports.co.uk/ offers the best combination of price and reputation. WRX is £17,500 with metallic paint and a cat 1 alarm (euro models dont have this as standard).

I'll second Dox- took delviery of mine from Well Lane a coupl of weeks ago. I think they've got a Silver and Red in Stock and he's getting another large delivery in May. But they seem to get them in all the time - 17995 and they're Belgium cars so you get the 3 yr warranty. Only need to pay for a Cat 1 alarm on top to bring up to full UK spec.

As Jon1T says, I should have mentioned the lack of alarm. On the upside, you don't feel guilty if you pop down the M621 to see Max for a Clifford makeover if you didn't have an alarm to start with
