any info on wrx sti v limited?
hello,
new here. own a legacy gtb, come from tinkering with supra engines
. nice site you have.
Picking up a my04 wrx sti v limited, peter solberg edition tommorrow.
Would like any info, on the specific mods if subaru did any to the ej20, so i know what platform im starting with, and what bits it comes with.
its a jap spec, as i understadn the wr1 is the equivelent in uk variants.

Hello
These cars are nothing like the WR1, they are completely different, different engines, different suspension, different steering rack etc.
These are twin scroll cars based upon the standard STI model (not spec c), you get the roof vent as an addition
Great cars, very rare in the uk, should hopefully be mapped for uk fuel, if not then v power and octane booster is your best bet.
Being twin scroll, they produce 80% of their torque at 2500 rpm, they have a shorter 5th and 6th gear, its not really intrusive tbh, higher revving engine than the uk cars, but what else do you want to know? just dont compare them with a UK car as the differences are far too long to list

hi tony, thanks for info.
Howmuch hp do they say they this variant comes with?
this v limited is a 5 speed, im guessing its the early version, as it says 2003 on the plaque.
id like to know comp ratio?
standard boost pressure?
ecu spec?
guessing its def odbII, self learning?
what is the map sensor resolution? So i know what max boost pressure to run.( ie, fuel cut occurs)
and what subaru do to the v limiteds thats different from the normal sti spec?
thanks

If its a 5 speed then its not an STI, it will be a wrx, all new age STI's have 6 speed boxes, 8k red line (JDM), twin scroll engine (red top, JDM) etc.
Will try to find you a pic of the car your suppose to be getting!

ok, this has a 8k redline, and is labelled a sti, inlet manifold is not red, but it has red shocks, springs dampers, etc.
so, next question, did they make a v limited non sti version then?
thanks again tony

Mines an STI 2003 V-Limited
Mine is a STI V-Limited registered in the uk on a 54 plate yet it is a 2003 as it has the plaque on the centre consol with series number, it has the decals on the rear spoiler and doors saying 2003 V-Limited. it has lighter glass lightened panels with no sound proofing, roof vent, also has a specific gearknob to this car and the red dials that sweep check on start up like defis.
it has the DCCD gearbox C-Diff. and six speed. it has special edition Toshi Arai suspension in Pink. twin scroll set up etc.
if its 5 speed it must be a WRX as all the STIs have 6 speed as earlier stated.....post up some pics of the car

It's as tony says not a patch on the STI version, I had a WRX V-Ltd that I brought over, PL54 DKO.
I printed all the info from the Subaru japan website.
They have the avcs heads, sti suspension, interior, bodywork etc, they also have unique alloys which the sti doesn't. They have the 5 spokes as shown in the 2nd image.
Mine used to quite happily keep up with standardish UK sti's
