If you think 220 BHP is too low for you then leave the RB5 alone .... the RB5 is such a good car that it needs to be left as standard to retain resale value - they are highly desirable if genuine and not messed about with.

If you want an Impreza to mess about with and ruin, then please don't ruin a RB5!

Buy an Import for pennies and ruin that!

The thing about the RB5 PPP (237BHP & 260 lb/ft) is that it is perfectly balanced for driving on the road. Perfectly balanced/Comfortable suspension and perfect power.
I had mine for 7 years and now have Sti 2006. However, the RB 5 could travel fast and comfortable on any back road whilst the Sti needs mods to do the same thing.
(Mine is modded)

Evo magazine rate these as the most balanced Impreza for British roads. Fine handling, well matched power and an ability to flow with the road, rather than beat it into submission like some Impreza's do.
If sensibly modified, uprated breaks etc, cant see this affecting resale values either.

Evo stats are:

RB5 (PPP) - 0-60 - 5secs
- 0-100 - 14.1
- top speed - 143 mph
1235 kg
237 bhp @ 6000rpm
258 lb/ft @ 3500rpm

Evo write up - +Perfect blend of poise and power - Limited numbers. Five star rating.

Go get it!!!

I own RB5 322 I planned to keep it standard but it didn't happen now running 330/320 with a set of BC coilovers and a few whiteline goodies.

Only an RB5 WR sport has PPP. The easy way to telll if it is a WR sport is it written on the speedometer.

not always true, you could have fitted the ppp fitted later at your expense by a dealer (mine does ) even if it isnt a wr straight out of the factory
